Project Description
The "Cliffhanger" mission in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is one if not the most iconic missions in the Call of Duty Series. Currently, I had no way of playing this mission anymore, so I decided to recreate this mission within FarCry 4's Map Editor. By doing this, I was able to give players like myself, a chance to relive this mission, as well as being able to introduce new players to this. From the very beginning, I knew accuracy was important for this recreation. However, it could never be exactly the same due to the engine differences. By utilizing overhead maps, I was able to do a rough blockout of the level, and for closer accuracy, I had to use several in-game screenshots and videos to fill in the gaps. Detail was another important element vital to this mission's recreation. With each layer of detail, the level felt more and more alive. For instance, when a player stumbles upon a hidden intel cache that mirrors the same intel caches in the original work.
